Elysian Piers is the musical alias of British musician and producer Ed Mead, born in Sussex, 1987. He currently resides in Brighton, on the Southern Coast of England, a world renowned city for emerging Artists and Musicians perched upon the English Channel.
Playing a variety of instruments including piano, flute, guitar, and synth, and a well grounded connection to classical music, he has an equal passion for both the compositional and production aspects of music. His encounters with bands such as M83, Amusement Parks On Fire and Sigur Ros was to be the catalyst to start producing his own music, blending elements of Classical, Shoegaze and Electronic music to create his own distinct style.
So in March, 2008 Elysian Piers was born. With air play of his very first demos being played internationally, interest begun to grow around this upcoming project and continues to do so with no sign of slowing down. In November, 2008 Elysian Piers was signed to indie label ‘Summer Rain Recordings’ who will be releasing his debut EP early 2009.
